ROTC & JROTC LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Military Order of the Purple Heart Leadership Award recognizes demonstrated leadership ability in a cadet/midshipman enrolled in an ROTC/JROTC program in a High School, College, University or Trade School.
ELIGIBILITY
Nominated recipient must:

Be an underclassman (Seniors not eligible)

Have a positive attitude toward ROTC/JROTC as expressed through full participation and attendence

Hold a leadership position in the cadet corps

Be active in school and community affairs
-
Attain a grade of “B” or better in all subjects for the previous semester

Not been a previous recipient of this award.
DESCRIPTION
The MOPH Leadership Award packet includes a medal pendant with ribbon, a separate ribbon bar and a certificate. Cadets and midshipmen who are awarded the MOPH Leadership Award are authorized to wear the appropriate medal/ribbon based on uniform regulations followed by their ROTC/JROTC unit.
PRESENTATION
The award is presented annually – usually during the Spring Award ceremony. Presentation of the award by a MOPH Member is preferred.
HOW TO ORDER
Chapter 1919 will order award packets on behalf of sponsored schools, and coordinate delivery and presentation of the awards with each school based on the school’s award ceremony date.
ROTC & JROTC programs are encouraged to complete and email the Award Request Form as soon as they have identified their nominated student – AND SCHEDULED the award ceremony date, time, and location.
